2015 Quad Cities Exchange

From August 6 to 8, 2015, the club experienced its first intrastate journey hosting nine ambassadors from the Quad Cities club. After a salad lunch, the group experienced all things Grant Wood – his studio at Turner Allen, Grant Wood art at the Stewart Library at Coe, Wood’s war memorial stained glass window at Veterans Memorial Building, and Works Progress Administration murals at City Hall whose funding was managed by Grant Wood. In the evening, guests enjoyed home hosted dinners.

Friday featured highlights of downtown Cedar Rapids including National Czech and Slovak Museum, Czech Village and the NewBo District and Market and a tour of the  Cedar Rapids Public Library. In the evening the group enjoyed Cabaret in the Courtyard at Brucemore. The performance featured a Cedar Rapids native, who has gone on to a national career. The Quad City journey concluded with the All Iowa Clubs Picnic at Noelridge Park pavilion.
